WWE Night Of Champions 2025: 7 Nightmares That Could Come True

Everything that could turn this WWE show into a Nightmare Of Champions.

Every single wrestling show has the potential be an absolute disaster, but the quality bar is generally set pretty darn high these days. On the whole, WWE delivers events with something (usually a killer match or two) worth seeing. It's rare for a PLE to happen without at least some merit to it. Look out though, because here comes Night(mare) Of Champions!

Seriously, WWE's latest trip to Saudi Arabia has all the makings of a historic evening. A new King and Queen Of The Ring will be crowned, there are cool matches on the lineup, and John Cena vs. CM Punk is happening for the first time in a long time. Even pre-loading all of those goodies might not save the company from calamity on the night.

You know the score by now - there's next to no room for positivity here. This is all about the worst of the worst that could go down in Riyadh on Saturday. What if celebrated midcarders get treated like 1980s jobbers, last-minute replacements stomp all over a long-held WWE rule, one worker's flaws are brutally exposed in front of the world, Triple H pulls the trigger on heel turns far too early, and what happened back at Money In The Bank proves effectively meaningless?!

All of that is nightmare fuel, but it's hardly impossible. You've seen everything good that must happen come Night Of Champions, so here's a glimpse into a house of horrors-style ride through the bad.

Nobody wants WWE's latest supershow to be a crushing disappointment, but...

7. Karrion Kross Gets Treated Like A Jobber

Karrion Kross would top lists looking at the most undervalued workers currently on the WWE roster. He earned some fanfare for speaking his mind in worked shoot fashion during WrestleMania season, and has now landed himself a golden opportunity against one of the best (and most giving) names in the biz at Night Of Champions: Sami Zayn.

Sadly, although Sami is definitely the sort of pro who'd give Kross at least 50% of the match balance, that decision might well be taken out of his hands over in Saudi. That's why this entry is here, because there's a genuine concern that Karrion will end up looking more Main Event (the TV show!) than Monday Night Raw on the night.

Zayn might be instructed to totally demolish Kross and stare down a concerned Scarlett as he leaves. If that happens, and it really shouldn't, then Karrion is dead in the water as somebody credible fans tuning into TV are going to care about. Yes, everybody needs to lose and nobody can be Goldberg from 1997 WCW forever, but it's often the manner in which a wrestler loses that people focus on.

For Karrion, it's imperative that he's allowed to look competitive in there against an upper-midcard stalwart like Sami. He's also the bigger man and relies on intimidation to sell his threat during bouts, so here's hoping this isn't a mere PLE payoff without long term progression for Kross.

Not many will trust WWE with this one until they see something other than false dawns for the guy. Go to bat for him, Zayn!
