AEW's Jeff Jarrett shoots on toxic and selfish MJF.

Having not competed for AEW since January, Jeff Jarrett has spoken candidly about his disappointment with his current role and, more specifically, did not hold back when it comes to his thoughts on MJF.

Speaking on his My World podcast (via AdFreeShows and WrestlingNews.co), Double J had a lot to say about his frustrations, with the MJF programme being one main source of these frustrations.

Of course, Jarrett and the Salt of the Earth traded barbs for several weeks running earlier this year, with some of those barbs being extremely personal, including shots at Jarrett's past addiction issues, comments about Jeff's wife Karen, a line about how the veteran is clinging on to Owen Hart's name to say relevant, and how Jeff Jarrett is the last thing you see before your favourite promotion closes its doors for good - and things got extremely awkward and overly dragged out, making for some of the worst pro wrestling TV of the year.

On all of this, Jarrett said:

"I am super disappointed that I've got myself in this position. I can't tell you how many times I've rethought agreeing on certain levels to certain things."

As the veteran in these exchanges, Jeff placed plenty of the blame on himself, though added that he was "listening to the wrong people", which was seemingly a reference to Sonjay Dutt.

In terms of MJF, the Chosen One didn't mince his words:

"MJF, ever since he got involved in anything that had to do with myself, has turned to absolute s**t."

For the pair's promo exchanges, Jarret said how he warned MJF about "going in the gutter" with his comments, explaining how he himself didn't want to go to those depths as it's not good for Jeff, not good for Max, and not good for the wider AEW product.

Diving deeper on those on-screen interactions with MJF, Jeff admitted that Friedman had "a boatload of talent", but that their work together was a major mistake and that Max was toxic and selfish.

"There's not one talent that has been involved with [MJF]... he always leaves everyone worse than when he started. I think he's toxic, toxic. I think he's selfish. I don't think he was good for my career on any level. I think he got me off on a wrong track. The MJF situation was a massive, massive, massive mistake on so many levels."

Despite AEW programming seemingly setting up a match between Jeff Jarrett and MJF back in January, that match has still yet to materialise. As it stands, Jarrett's last AEW match was a Dynamite loss to Claudio Castagnoli three months ago, after which Jeff was attacked by MJF. However, any Jarrett vs. MJF plans have since seemingly been dropped, as Max switched focus to 'Hangman' Adam Page and nowadays finds himself trying to earn a spot in the Hurt Syndicate.
