Blake Monroe Felt "A Little Dejected" In AEW Last Year, Happy To Join WWE (WWE News)
Ex-AEW star "didn't think [she] was going to be in WWE", but she's delighted to be there.

New NXT star Blake Monroe has revealed that she didn't think she'd ever reach the heights of WWE, but the 26-year old Brit is definitely thrilled to be part of the company in 2025.
Blake posted a vlog to her own YouTube channel that showed her getting ready for her TV debut on the 3 June episode of NXT and struggling to comprehend that it was actually reality. According to Blake herself, she "didn’t think [she] was going to be in WWE" at all. At one point, Monroe even pondered whether or not she'd share such comments with the world, because they're "so personal".
The NXT newcomer also disclosed that she felt "a little dejected at the end of last year" whilst still with competitor AEW. There, as Mariah May, she enjoyed a critically-acclaimed storyline with former mentor turned rival Toni Storm that peaked with a 174 day reign as AEW Women's Champion - together, the duo also worked a genuine classic at the Revolution pay-per-view this past March.
That "Hollywood Ending" gave Storm her belt back, and it proved to be the last match Mariah worked as #AllElite. Something was missing. Basically, she yearned to make it to WWE and officially achieve a childhood dream. It was Blake's parents and manager that kept her spirits up when she was doubting herself, but Monroe also took steps towards getting her head back in the game so Triple H and crew would come knocking.
Monroe "Fell In Love With Wrestling" All Over Again

Blake took it upon herself to do some training at the Flatbacks wrestling school run by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears. There, she "fell in love with wrestling again" and started to realise that maybe WWE could become her future after all. At one point, her father even told her: "Life isn’t a dress rehearsal. You get one go - this is your dream since you were a little kid".
That motivated Monroe, then "everything happened really quickly". Her AEW contract expired in May, and Blake was marching onto WWE television early the next month. Her vlog is worth watching for those who love seeing genuine pro wrestling fans accomplish their dreams and for people who share the same ambitions.
Blake Monroe is living proof that dreams do come true if you're talented enough and work hard. Good for her!
